This is a classic Murphy family recipe, made by my dad for special dinners together since I was a little kid. Its both my mom's and my favourite meal… despite the obvious lack of health benefits and excessively cheesy quality. Forget calorie counting for one night and try this, the ultimate mac and cheese recipe.

Ingredients
- 2 cups uncooked macaroni
- 1/2 cup uncooked penne
- 2 cups cheddar cheese, grated
- 3/4 cup kale, shredded
- 1/4 cup salami, cut into long and thin pieces (optional)
- 2 tsp butter
Directions
- Pre oven to 350'F
- Grease 9 inch pyrex dish with butter
- Boil pasta until al dente, cooked but still slightly firm
- Drain pasta and pour half into pyrex dish
- Layer on half of the cheese, kale, and salami
- Pour the rest of the pasta on top
- Layer again with the rest of the cheese, kale, and salami
- Bake pasta dish in the oven for 10-15 minutes
- Mac and Cheese is ready when cheese has melted and began to crisp on top
Notes
- This dish can be made vegetarian easily by omitting any type of meat
- The kale as well can be substituted for another vegetable, broccoli is great choice
